    Introduction
Hello all fellow DAL members. As you may have already heard, Diego Regalado managed to top YCS Guatemala using Infernity. Today I want to discuss the Infernity deck that Diego used and some of the changes I would personally make to the deck.

    Diego’s Choices
As you may have already noticed, this is not your standard Avenger Infernity deck, which would look something like this https://i.imgur.com/PlLXL.png. Most Avenger Infernity builds focus on OTKing and looping with Hundred Eyes Dragon, whereas Diego hasn’t even put Hundred Eyes Dragon in his Extra Deck and has focussed his deck very much on controlling the field. Now I will talk about any interesting card choices he has made.

    Main Deck

    2 Armageddon Knight
Diego has chosen not to run any Dark Grephers and instead run 2 Armageddon Knight. I think that he didn’t want to run Grephers as he didn’t like the fact that you have to discard a monster with Grepher and Diego’s deck had plenty of stall power through the amount of traps he was running, so he didn’t need to run the Grepher to get rid of cloggy hands.

    2 Infernity Guardian
With the format full of Dark Worlds and Heroes, Infernity Guardian was a great choice made by Diego, as it let him stall until he was able to get over his opponent’s field.

    1 Infernity Mirage
He ran only one as the deck was much more control based and didn’t focus on OTKing nearly as much as a standard Avenger Infernity Deck would.

    2 Infernity Necromancer
Diego didn’t want to have Necromancers clogging his hand and with all the Traps he ran, he could draw one when he needed too. Also, with the deck focussing less on OTKing, the deck didn’t need as much revival power as a standard build would.

    2 Mystical Space Typhoon
He obviously felt that 3 would be cloggy, and with the deck less focussed on OTKing, Spell & Trap Removal wasn’t needed nearly as much.

    1 Dark Bribe
Diego quite clearly ran this in place of Solemn Judgment, as he didn’t like to pay the cost of activating Solemn Judgment.

    Extra Deck

    1 Mist Wurm
He probably used this card to go for game or clear the field of annoying Synchro and Xyz monsters, I personally wouldn’t run it though.

    2 Void Ogre Dragon
    For more control.

    1 Photon Papilloperative
Deals with Spirit Reaper, and cards like that.

    Side Deck

    2 Prohibition
Good side deck card overall, after going off you can use this card to stop annoying staples like Dark Hole and you can use it to stop your opponent using key cards for their deck.

    2 Twister
Diego used this to get rid of annoying Field Spells and Continuous Trap cards like Skill Drain.

    3 Imperial Iron Wall
Stops Rabbit and stops cards like Macro Cosmos which will wreck Infernity.

    2 Infernity Force
Diego sided this in for any decks he knew he would have to play a grind game against.

    2 Needle Ceiling
Wind-Ups, Six Samurai, any OTK deck, this card just stops them in their tracks.

    Infernity Doomlord Changes
Although Diego topped at YCS Guatemala, I still personally think there are some things that he did get wrong. Now I’ll go into some of the changes I think need to be made to this deck, excluding the Side, as I think that it is more personal preference over anything else.

    -1 Armageddon Knight
I think at least one Grepher should have been run over the second Armageddon, as it is an effect you can keep on using and especially since he decided not to use Inferno, I think the deck did need a discard outlet for those really cloggy hands and for when you do have the chance to quickly go for game.

    -1 Infernity Guardian
Has alot of potential to clog and the requirement of being handless to use its effect is also quite annoying.

    -1 One for One
Since Diego only ran 1 Mirage, I seriously felt that One for One was an unnecessary card, as it becomes useless when you already have a Mirage in your hand and the deck has lots of stall power, meaning that you will get a Mirage when you need one. Also, One for One is a horrible topdeck, and considering this deck goes handless quite quickly, it is often a dead card.

    -1 Dark Bribe
Prefer Solemn Judgment over Dark Bribe, it is more versatile and doesn’t let your opponent plus.

    -1 Infernity Break
I think that Infernity Break is only really there for situations which Infernity Barrier can’t deal with, and the fact you have to banish an Infernity card is also quite annoying as well. Also, the handless requirement is a pain.

    -1 Mist Wurm
This card will rarely ever be used, so why keep it in the Extra Deck?

    -1 Photon Papilloperative
The only real situation where it’s ever any good is to deal with Spirit Reaper.

    +1 Dark Grepher
Same reasons as I said above for taking out 1 Armageddon knight.

+1 Tour Guide of the Underworld
I would run this over the second Infernity Guardian as Zenmaines can stall without having to be handless and it destroys annoying cards your opponent might control, it sets up a Necromancer in the grave, and Tour Guide has more options then Guardian.

    +1 Mystical Space Typhoon
Running three means that you can go off safely when you want to and it just provides more protection.

    +1 Compulsary Evacuation Device
Deals with Xyz monsters and Synchro monsters easily and protects your own cards from things like Torrential Tribute or Bottomless Trap Hole.

    +1 Hundred Eyes Dragon
I would add this card in as I like having the option to loop when I want to, if I can OTK.

    +1 Steelswarm Roach
Great against the Dark World match-up, as it stops Grapha coming out for a couple of turns, by which time you can win the game.
