Moonlight Duels Instructions and Story Empty Re: Moonlight Duels Instructions and Story

    Story

The eclipse-like phenomenon isn't the only strange thing happening. Duelists are also vanishing, even after a single duel. You saw one of them drop down before your very eyes before their body shone and vanished, leaving only their cards and duel disks behind. The alleyway was too dark to see what they had been dueling though, and you had only arrived a few seconds after hearing their screams. A crowd now gathers around you and everyone is beginning to whisper amongst themselves.
    "Could they have done it...?"
Unknown to you, some of these whispers are directed at you. When you turn to leave, the crowd scatters to let you pass, many hiding their faces in fear. Then you see it. A fork of lightning from the sky strikes the ground in front of the town centre. Everyone, including you, looks away, covering your eyes from the blinding light. When you look back, all the non-duelists have been frozen in their positions. Two people now stand where the lightning struck, looking at the non-frozen people around them - the duelists. The glistening fountain behind the two is also frozen in time, the moonlight reflecting off the frozen water's surface.

    Who will step forward?

With the first Moonlight Duelists - Cain and Abel - defeated, the remaining duelists celebrate their victories. However, the celebrations are short-lived as the moon comes closer to the Earth... There must be another unnatural force at work, for it is becoming harder to duel and think effectively. Unnoticed previously to the normal duelists, each Moonlight Duelist wears a device in their ear. Surely this is what is helping them duel so well? Nonetheless, as Cain falls, he reveals that the next Moonlight Duelists are present in the High Street. They can provide more answers... can't they?

Theseus and Moses have lost, but the amassed Duel Energy is enough already for players to suddenly start finding out they have lost 1000 life points at the start of the duel. As this doesn't affect the Moonlight Duelists, many duelists are calling it foul play, but what can they do against the forces of darkness? The only thing to do with the moon coming every closer must surely be to escape from the city? However, the roads outside the city are also patrolled by moonlight duelists and so it is with great sadness I regret to inform you that two have stopped you in your tracks.

Finally, you reach an observatory at the side of the road. As the place is seemingly deserted, you take advantage of the lull in battle to look through the giant telescope. To your horror, something seems to be burning up within the atmosphere as it approaches the Earth. The seismic shock knocks you off your feet as whatever the object was strikes the Earth. Once you stand up again, you redirect the telescope toward where the object is thought to have landed. Curiously, there is a giant crater in its place, debris and dust flying into the sky, lifted by the updraft of flames. Two silhouettes step out of the debris. Nearby is a rocket launch site with a rocket primed for launch. Now your mission is understandable. Surely what is happening on the Earth must be originating from the moon?

Two Moonlight Duelists burst into the observatory, disrupting the duelist's thoughts. Once they have been dispatched of, the duelists then head toward the Rocket Launch Site, hoping to grab what they need from it before setting off to reach the moon. The journey is a quiet, undisturbed one. That is, until they reach the launching platform. The maze of construction materials hinders navigation and before long, many are lost. But the Moonlight Duelists know their way around...

After a rather epic series of battles, both duelists fall. Judas however, did not legitimately lose the duel to his challenger, so he remains unharmed. He was knocked unconscious at the end after a scuffle, but willed the duelist to continue and enter the rocket, which was preparing for takeoff. The duelists inside the rocket now, the rocket then takes off, the G-forces pressing down on everybody, nearly crushing them to the floor and knocking the weak-willed unconscious...

After what seemed like hours, many duelists wake up to a knocking and grinding sound. Despite the beautiful view of the Earth through the small windows, there were more pressing concerns. Such as the presence of more Moonlight Duelists who had worked their way through the Cargo Hold hatch into the living area...

The duelists were powerful. They were so strong that each took down at least a few to their name. One even survived all the duels he was challenged to and attempted to escape the rocket once it had landed on the moon in the hope of returning to the wild, but he was knocked out by a mysterious person before he managed to put on a spacesuit. The mysterious person then donned the moonlight duelist's spacesuit and stepped out of the rocket onto the moon, alone.

After a minute of standing near the moon landing, the mysterious person saw two silhouettes on the horizon, the sun just behind them. With the proximity of the Earth to the Moon, it was no surprise that the Earth appeared so large, and the sun in its position. This also accounted for the fast rocket trip.
"Good... evening." The mysterious person struggled to say, almost as if he was having trouble taking control of his voice. He was greeted back by the raising of both moon people's hands. Shielding his eyes from the glare of the sunlight, the mysterious man went over to them and they began their conversation.
"So, you have taken them all down." A man spoke.
    "....Yes." Replied the mysterious man.
"That is good. We shall not be troubled by them any further." A woman's soft voice is heard. What is most striking about these two people is that they both only wear toga-like clothes, no spacesuits. But the mysterious man knew why.
These two called themselves Adam and Eve, the harbingers of the End of the World. Except they weren't really - one of them was the leader, and the other, a resurrected duelist turned moonlight duelist. Shin Katari.
"Thank you, Judas." Adam - also known as Shin Katari - spoke, motioning to shake his hand. Judas took it with trepidation, but was rewarded by a powerful, burning sensation. He screamed in pain, collapsing to the rock.
    "And now... for the Earth."

    FINAL DUEL AND ENDING
