    Darksworn Reaper

Post by Marrillian on Fri Apr 18, 2014 10:08 am

Backstory (with mixed in strategy of the deck - read carefully hehe):

My friend was building a chaos deck and asked for my help. We worked on the deck for quite a while. During that time I came across Pilgrim Reaper and instantly thought: "Whoa, this is a dark lightsworn!" And then my friend merged it to Darksworn.

Then I completely scrapped the deck list and began building a deck around the purpose of milling. Naturally I choose lightsworn as the main engine. But I really wanted to get out that Pilgrim. So I threw in a Hieretics engine. Lastly I the whole point of the milling is for chaos, so I threw in some essential chaos that met the condition for Darksworn as well. Luckily I found this amazing existence - Labradorte Dragon. A level 6, dark, normal dragon that is a tuner?! This card is a staple to the deck. Now I have my target for Hieretics, and chaos, and a possible level 10 synchro just for the fun of it.

I liked the idea, so I thought I'd give the deck a shot too.

I did change up the build slightly to my liking. Now I have to go and test it.

Your variation is much more Chaos orientated. So far mine's been running very well. I don't remember any stalled hands so far.

Tell me how yours performs. I went for a lightsworn build because of the speed it gives. Plus popping judgement is fun!

The one problem I see is that you limited Labradorte, which removes targets for Hieratics.

I never really need more than 1 target. The most I ever really do in one turn is tribute 1 Hieratic, and I can always recycle Labradorite from the grave after detaching it from whatever Xyz I summon.

Caius is just WAY too slow in this deck, so I removed it. Plaguespreader is also not that fun when you draw it too often, so I took that down to 1. I put 1 more Lyla in because Lyla is absolutely awsome and I put in 2 Solar Recharges because I completely forgot those last time. Malicious is just so good, but I hate drawing it.

The deck has been testing good overall. Ofc it's not meta or anything, but it can keep up with other decent decks and it's a joy to play. Ironically, I might actually remove Pilgrim Reaper since I often don't find myself needing the mill.

Well I run multiple so I can use them for the chaos.

So it wouldn't fit into a tier?
