Test Criteria and Results Empty Test Criteria and Results

Post by DuelLegend Sat Apr 28, 2012 10:23 pm

ONLY TEACHERS, JUDGES, or TESTERS MAY TEST
Congratulations if you have just completed your test and are awaiting your result. It will be posted here by your tester.
If this isn't the case and you're simply looking for the criteria, then read on.
If this still isn't the case and you're wondering how to obtain a test, just make a new topic and use the form giving when making the topic..

    ====Testing Criteria====
Depending on who is testing, you will be graded based on one of the two following methods. The majority of testers will use the first grading rubric. Keep in mind, if you are being tested and want to use OCG, you need to ask to be tested based on the second rubric.

    Ground Rules
Testees may use any tier deck they want, but if so, must warn the tester what tier they are, so that the tester can select a deck of equal strength. You can find out what tier your deck is on [Only admins are allowed to see this link]. If you do not find your deck on this list, tell your tester that, so he can still choose a deck not on the tier list as well. Only TCG cards may be used. Decks such as FTK, Burn or Stall are not allowed to be used by both tester and testee, as they do not determine how much skill you have. The test will consist of a single match. Siding is allowed. Deck switching is not. Once the match is over, the deck must be sent by PM to the tester for analysis. Testers will not give other people this decklist. Testers will also do a 10 question ruling exam via pm. You must give reasons for all of your answers.

    The Rubric

2 wins no loss: 20 points

    2 wins 1 loss: 13 points

    2 losses 1 win: 6 points

    0 wins 2 losses: 0 points

    Deck Construction: 0-20 points

Ruling Questions: Each ruling question correct is 2 points.

How well deck was used: 0-20 points

Deck Choice: 0-5 points (How much skill it takes to use the deck they choose, for example Fire Fist would be 2 points because it is fairly easy to use but decks like Infernity and Mono Mermail would be at the higher end in terms of points as they are harder to use.)

Misplays: <5 points (Subtract 1 point for each minor misplay, such as forgetting to mill with Lyla, like I always do xD. 2 points for a bigger one, such as making a huge combo play while the tester has tons of backrow. This score is allowed to end up as a negative.)

    Total:
    Legend: Invite only

    Advanced: 75-90 points

    Intermediate: 50-74 points

    Beginner: >49 points

Tester Tasks: (no need to read if you are being tested)
    Spoiler:

Testers, please fill out this form after completing the test.

    Comments:
    Good opening.
Mistake: E-Emergency call went to grave when Macro Cosmos was on field.
He took a long time to consider whether cards went to grave or RFG zone when Morphing Jar was attacked and Macro Cosmos was face-up. Answered wrongly.
Played Mirror Force on D.D. survivor, but probably anticipated I had played Pot of Duality that turn. A careless mistake on my part, but one that was well played by him.
Played a series of spell/trap prevention cards such as Dark Bribe in response to Necroface. The resulting chain was that Necroface's summon was negated and its effect didn't activate.
He was correct in assuming that if cards such as Solemn Judgement are negated, their costs are still paid.
Duel disconnected mid-game, just after he played Reinforcement of the Army. He decided not to play a second game, instead keeping his points and allocated dorm.

    Congratulations!

Updated the points each duelist starts with from 100 to 0. All those that already have their dorm are unaffected by the change.

Comments: Couldn't even touch him. The deck was unique and I was completely unprepared for him. He played well and seemed to know all his stuff. Got a couple of ruling questions wrong though, but apart from that, he was solid. I hesitate to say the deck he has will work well against others though, but that's down to the duelist. If he can make a deck this good against mine, he can make one against anything else.

Comments: Very new to DN. Made mistake on first opening hand and summoned a weak monster, setting a single spell/trap. I allowed him to take back the move and retry the opening hand, but it remained the same. Some of the same errors were made throughout the game, but he seemed to know most of his stuff at least. His main problem was the weak deck he used. If he used a stronger deck, I'm sure he would have fared much better.

Comments: It took 5 duels to get to this point, and he quit the 4th because he didn’t like my deck. He played fine, but his deck was too centred around countering mine by using cards such as soul absorption. His knowledge of the game seems ok, but he needs to make sure he reads all the opponent's cards or ask them if he doesn't know what has occurred in the game. If he used his Naturia deck, I'm sure he would have fared better.

Comments: His deck was unique, but that was about it. Many of the cards used were situational and as a result, he did not have the effective means in which to fight back. He also needs to practise the game some more, so he knows when best to use cards. For instance, he set a Gold Sarcophagus for about 4 turns (the game lasted about 6 turns) and didn't use it. While he knows how to play, he needs the practise. Better luck next month!

Comments: The Duel was finished in a couple of turns because of me lacking monsters. His Deck Strength was Good, only the problem was the originality of the deck, it could use some variations. In the Ruling Questions, he got some corrects but was wrong about chain links. Overall, his deck was above average and was well-played. Only the deck originality and knowledge about the chain links is keeping him. But he has very good potential.

    Congrats!

Comments: Mistake: using his compulsory evacuation card to bring back to hand my Batteryman Industrial Strength while I have 2 batteryman monster in the graveyard, thus causing him to lose the duel. But he did an impressive opening play and effective plays using his Hieratic Deck, I would say even if his Hieratic Deck is new to him, he still used to its fullest during our duel. And for the questions part, I'd say he only got one mistake. Better Luck next time! GladBeastMan12!

And his deck build was original. He got 4/5 in the questions part. Overall, I'd say Practice and Develop your skills, Chrisom... and also use some Archtype Decks next time!

Comments: Very new to the game. Didn't know how to use the effects of some cards and misread some others, such as Different Dimension Capsule and Monster Reborn. That doesn't matter, that's what this academy is for - training duelists to become better. I didn't ask the ruling questions as there wasn't enough time, and no need.

Comments: Much better than when I last duelled him. Even though I won, it was partially down to luck. I could have lost. He needs to reduce the number of high-level cards in his deck though, but other than this, I thought he did quite well. Enough to merit him this score, at least. Had he won, he would have had the opportunity to answer ruling questions and potentially move up a dorm. Well played.

Comments: Phew. An intense duel. He played well, but I think he was hampered by the number of cards unrelated to his deck's aim that he had in his deck. My suggestion would be to lower the number of cards in the deck to 40, giving you the best chance of drawing what you need. You don't need cards such as Slate Warrior with your deck. A good duelist and a good deck makes a championship winner. Currently, there is only a good duelist here.

    Good Opening.

Mistakes: He activated his bottomless trap hole on my Delta Flyer (1500 atk) which may not have been the smartest move.

-He played Short Circuit when I had only one monster on the field (set down). It ma have helped him but not a wise choice.

Good Plays: He managed to have one good turn destroying my Blue-Eyes White Dragons and a few other monsters.

-His deck is strong. I almost had him until he drew a spell card which really helped him.

Comments: He wasn't completely sure on some of the ruling questions, but he did fine nonetheless. The duel had to be done twice though since LightofHell had a first full hand of traps and I one-turn killed him with a Limiter Removal. Regardless, the second duel went more successfully for him, though I do recommend trying to increase the deck's speed and power as currently, it takes a while to get going.
